Rebuilt
Engine Warranty
Non
transferrable...valid for the original purchaser only.
Absolutely no cash refunds, full or partial.
All warranty is void if the engine is disassembled in part or full before
being returned to me.
Warranty may require that the customer be responsible for some or all
of the replacement parts cost depending on circumstances.
ALL warranty
work MUST be returned to me at the customer's cost for repair. Under
no circumstance will I pay or reimburse in part or full for tansportation
or shipping costs to the customer or anyone else. Nor will I pay out
of pocket expenses for repairs performed elsewhere that would be covered
under my warranty. Customers should consider this before making a purchase.
.
Below is a quick outline of the warranty. Note all restrictions. By purchasing
an engine you agree to all conditions set below:
- 1 year from
date of purchase/pickup/shipment regardless of mileage if you are doing your own installation.
OR
- 18 months
(year and a half) from date of pickup for those who elect to have me
install their engine into their car. The engine build is the same, however
I am more comfortable warrantying an engine I have personally installed,
since I can be sure everything is as it should be and, in some cases,
can even begin the breakin of the engine.
- provides
that the engine will not overheat and/or lose coolant as a result of
an internal coolant leak. This does not cover leaking external accessories,
even if installed by me. This does not cover engines that have been
overheated by the customer, and I reserve the right to partially or
fully deny any claim that I believe to be damaged by overheating.
- provides
that the engine will not smoke excessively after startup. Note that
excess smoke can be a result of contaminated exhaust, bad turbo, or
faulty OMP, and none of these faults are covered even if said parts
were installed by me.
- provides
that the engine will maintain good compression (all 6 faces). Used housing rebuilds often take many weeks or months to break in and reach full compression, and this is dependent on the wear of the housings that were used. Thereofre I do not guarantee a certain compression value be reached. Note that breakage of new apex seals is indicative of abuse, overrev, overboost, or detonation, and may not fall under warranty depending on circumstances.
- provides
that the engine will hold good oil pressure. This is defined as 25psi+
at idle and 35+psi above. Note that stock gauges are not highly accurate,
and numbers should be verified with an external gauge if in question.
- does NOT
provide for any items I install outside the short block whether they
were originally yours or I sell them to you. This may include manifolds,
turbos, injectors, wiring, water pumps, alternators, etc. This means,
for example, that if I install your original parts on your rebuild for
you, and you later find you have a leak on the oilpan, you do not have
grounds to send the engine back. OR, for example, if I put together
a long block turbo conversion for you and a fuel injector turns out
to be stuck, I will not be liable.
- does NOT
provide for any issues regarding installation of the engine that I perform.
For instance, if you have me install an engine into your car and later
your radiator hose busts, or you have an electrical problem, I am not
liable. Any problems with an installation I perform must be noted at
or before pickup, and will be dealt with at that time.
- If you wish
to return an engine for repair, shipping is at all times the responsibility
of the customer. OR, stated a different way, at no time will I be responsible
for paying shipping.
- If you are
semi-local to me, I may give you the option to bring the entire car
for repair with the engine still installed even if I did not install it the first time. Under these circumstances
I would remove the engine, repair it, and reinstall it at no cost, provided
the failure falls under the above warranty terms. If it is found otherwise,
labor and/or parts cost may accrue to the owner.
