Do you sell
jspec/japan imported engines?
No, I do not import or sell any jspec engines.
I can only build from what you bring me. |
 |
| 2) |
|
Do you have
any engines on the shelf, already built, and ready to ship?
No, I build all engines on a per order basis,
and I require your core up front to build from. |
 |
| 3) |
|
Can you get
me a 3 rotor engine?
No, I do not import or sell any jspec engines,
and this engine was never sold in the US. |
 |

|
Do you sell
used engines?
Normally, no. ON very rare occasions, I will
part out a car which had a running engine, or I will take an
engine in trade for a conversion of some sort. I check the engine
out and compression test it, and then post it for sale on the
rx7 forums. This is very rare, though. |

|
Can you sell
me the parts I’ll need to rebuild my engine, like gaskets,
seals, etc.?
No, I do not sell any rebuild parts or kits.
I buy all my parts from atkinsrotary.com, you’ll need
to contact them, or another supplier, for your parts. |

|
Can I send
in my housings to be ported, and then you return them to me
for assembly?
No, I do not perform porting out-the-door.
Porting is very time consuming, and is usually a break-even
proposition with my current pricing. I only make money off the
engine build itself, not the porting. Most builders regard their
ports as proprietary, and will not do this at all. |

Can you install
a turbo on my nonturbo rotary?
First, read the turbo conversion writeup page,
it has answers to most all of your questions. But no, I do not
perform custom turbo installs on nonturbo engines. IF I perform
a turbo conversion, it uses stock turbo II model parts and engine. |

Do you buy
core engines? How much do you offer?
Yes, I sometimes buy cores. IT’s often
hard to know what you’re buying with a core. They can
range from fully rebuildable to fully junk…every part
inside trashed. Because of this, I usually offer little for
cores in which their condition cannot be guaranteed. I also
offer credit towards your rebuild for any core(s) you may trade
in. Note that I cannot always commit to buying your core. I
may not have funds available at the time, I may have an excess
of that particular core (I usually have plenty of 86-88 NA stuff),
or shipping may cost too much to be worthwhile. Here is a general
rate schedule that I pay for core engines, dependent on condition;
I do not buy pre 86 cores at all, as they are rarely in useable
condition.

Do you sell
rx-7s whole (whole cars)?
I do rarely have a car or 2 for sale, but I
find fewer and fewer good deals out there these days, so I don’t
often fool with finding a car to fix and resell. Generally I
don’t have anything for sale. |

Do you buy
rx-7s whole or for parts?
Yes, I will consider offers for cars for sale.
Generally if I buy one, I expect it to be for parts. Don’t
expect me to offer more than about $6-800 tops (say, for a turbo
model, complete) or 2-400 for a nonturbo model, or a roughed-up
car. If you’re asking much more than this price range,
it isn’t anything I want to fool with. |
